The Amazon River dries up and dolphins die

The severe climate change in the region caused severe drought in the river, which led to the death of dolphins.  August 30, 2024, was keen to note that the Amazon River Basin has begun to dry up, witnessing a decrease in the level of many of its tributaries.

It did not happen today or two days ago, but rather began two months ago, as a technical note issued by the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization, which includes Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuado, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela, said on Wednesday: “The Amazon basin is facing one of the most severe droughts in recent years in 2024, with significant impacts on many member states.”

The Amazon River is one of the largest rivers in the world in terms of flow rate and is located in SouthOf America. The Amazon River passes through Brazil and Peru, and its tributaries reach Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, and Bolivia.Sky News Arabia
