A stomach and intestinal disease has
spread in Aswan Governorate. The Deputy Minister
of Health and a preventive medical team visited after the Minister informed
them. The Egyptian Ministry of Health, Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, has noted a
surge in gastroenteritis cases in the Aswan Governorate, especially in Abu
Al-Rish and nearby villages, since September 11, 2024. Health officials,
including spokesmen Hossam Abdel Ghaffar and Governor Ismail Kamal, are
investigating water safety and monitoring the situation.
The Egyptian Ministry of Health is
addressing an increase in gastroenteritis cases by tracking hospital visits and
testing water from 103 drinking stations and affected houses. Since symptoms
like nausea and diarrhea can spread through contaminated food and water,
officials are taking this action in response to a sharp rise in intestinal
infections since September 11, 2024.
A virtual workshop was conducted for
hospital doctors to train them in diagnosing, treating, and referring
intestinal flu cases. Additionally, a meeting is planned to enhance awareness
among primary care doctors about managing intestinal flu effectively.
